A Yellow Balloon

A yellow balloon his escaped from our Hall of Fame setup and it is floating gently in the halls just outside my office. Once and a while someone will corral it back into the dining room, but somehow it manages to escape and people in the hall play with it, and tap it and hold it and look at it and then let it go.

I like the yellow balloon that ran away. I like the way that it is doing its own thing by flowing with the air currents. Just now the balloon has been caught by a resident and he is smiling and riding around with it in his hand.

I want to be a yellow balloon when I grow up. I want to flow with the currents and break loose from the rest of the balloons that are tied down together in the dining room. I want to give joy the same way the balloon gives pleasure to whomever happens by and taps it as it floats in midair.

Are you weary of being a flagging balloon that is tied down with the others? Do you long to break free and float outside the confines of custom?

May we all be a yellow balloon once and a while.
