Epic Birthday Party Celebrates 101-year-old Veteran


Danville, Ky., May 15, 2017 – Walter Juteau has celebrated many life milestones since 1916, and this Saturday is a special landmark for the oldest World War II veteran in Kentucky. Family and lifelong friends are coming together Saturday, May 20th at the Danville Centre for an Epic Birthday Party celebrating Walter’s 101st birthday. The Veterans of Foreign Wars will present Walter with a plaque recognizing his service to the country.

While he has not found the fountain of youth, yet, Walters says his secret to a long life is “Not worrying about things.” He lives out this motto since retiring at the age of 90 years old with his favorite hobbies, fishing and riding a snow mobile.

Walter will celebrate his 101st birthday on Saturday, May 20th at the Danville Centre, 642 North 3rd Street, from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m.  He was born in Newport, New York in 1916. He is the oldest World War II veteran in Kentucky and the second oldest marine in the country. He currently resides at the Danville Centre for Health and Rehabilitation.
