“My Peace I Leave You” by Chaplain Savannah Frederick

Peace I leave with you. My Peace I give to you, not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. John 14:37

The Message Bible – I’m leaving you well and whole. That’s my parting gift to you, Peace. I don’t leave you the way you’re used to being left, feeling abandoned, bereft. So don’t be upset, don’t be distraught.

One of our resident’s young Son passed away. She was distressed, weeping and moaning. There were two ministers, one on each side of her praying, with comforting words. We encouraged her to call out to God. As she began saying, “Jesus, Jesus” the atmosphere in the room changed. The Spirit of God came in giving her Peace that no one else could. She stopped weeping and moaning and was able to make final arrangements for her son.

Prayer: Father thank you for your Peace upon each of us. Amen
