“Wait for the LORD; be strong and take heart and wait for the LORD.”
Psalm 27:14 NIV

“Patience is a virtue.” “You have the patience of JOB.” “You are all heart.” “You are so strong.” Have you ever had anyone make those comments to or about you? Where do you think those characteristics come from? Why do you think some people appear to have more strength, heart, and patience than others? Some may claim such person’s traits are learned behaviors while others claim they are innate. I would have to agree with latter group’s beliefs on this subject.

Psalm 139:14 (KJV) says,

14I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.

Yes, God made us unique giving us separate talents but we need to knoweth right well within our souls we were knitted together in HIS image. We are HIS reflection.

If HE made us in HIS own image, for HIS purpose, don’t you think HE would give us HIS strength, HIS heart, and HIS patience? The only characteristic that sets us apart from truly believing those things is our faith.

Circumstances beyond our control occur and what we each encounter may set us apart in our experiences. These things may cause an appearance of differences for some people to have the patience of JOB, the strength of Samson, and the heart of David; but what did each of those people have in common? Christ was their center; their source of strength, their spring from which they drew water. HE gave them life.

Where does your strength from? Do you feel capable in handling your circumstances alone? Have you lost heart and the will the fight? Are you making flippant decisions selling yourself short of what God has to offer just because your too impatient to wait on HIM?

Be steadfast in your faith. Stand firm and hold on. Believe deep within your soul that you have everything it takes to get through whatever life has thrown at you. Be patient. HE isn’t on our time schedule; we are on HIS. Trust HIM with all your heart to breathe life back into you. With HIM you will overcome those weaknesses that have seemingly taken over.

Have a Wonderful Wednesday!

By HIS merciful hand,
Melanie Kern
