“For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?” Mark 8:36-37 (KJV)
How is it that at times we get so off track about what is important, or what is a priority, or what is need? I believe that we do know the differences, it just sometimes feels more natural for us to go toward the things of interest and wants. God reminds us to stay focused and to be aware of ourselves and where we can end up in life.
Many times in my life I remember that I knew what I needed to do but was distracted by something else that got my attention. It was always something that could wait, or something that I could get later, but it was more entertaining to me at that time than the important task at hand. Afterwards I would always find myself trying to catch up on the important things from not giving them the proper time they needed.
Faith is a source of importance. Hebrews 11: 6 reminds us: “For he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.”
Prayer: Dear God let us seek the importance of our spiritual being today. We pray that we may be successful in fulfilling all that you have called for us to do. Amen
