Seeds For The Journey

“But these are the ones sown on good ground, those who hear the word, receive it, and bear fruit…” Mark 4:20

Every time I plant a Spring garden, I think of some great advice my mother has given to me concerning planting seeds in order to reap a harvest. Her advice is: “Always plant three seeds! One to die, one for the worm, and one to grow.” This simple advice has aided in the harvest of much fruit over the years.

I recently read some good advice from a well-known lady named Mother Teresa that I believe is helpful in all corners of life:

People are often unreasonable and self-centered. Forgive them anyway.
If you are kind, people may accuse you of ulterior motives. Be kind anyway.
If you are honest, people may cheat you. Be honest anyway.
If you find happiness, people may be jealous. Be happy anyway.
The good you do today may be forgotten tomorrow. Do good anyway.
Give the world the best you have, and it may never be enough. Give your best anyway.
For you see, in the end, it is between you and God.
It never was between you and them anyway. – Mother Teresa

Dear Lord, may we continue planting positive seeds on this journey. May we always strive to give our best, and may You forgive us during the moments that we don’t. May we serve You today, and trust You to bring much fruit from our lives. Thank You for allowing us to labor in Your harvest fields today! Thank you for Your miracles, Your healing, and Your Amazing Grace – AMEN
