Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their toil. Ecclesiastes 4:9

I was one of those naughty little kids who liked to play on the railroad tracks not far from our house in Windsor, MO. Of course, it was in the late ’60s, so nobody worried about their kids then like they do now. We would see who could walk the farthest on the track like on a balance beam by counting the number of ties we crossed. None of my friends or I could make it more than five or six ties.

Had we known the story Zig Ziglar used to tell, we would have done better. Even though railroad rails are rounded on the top and difficult to walk on, if two people walk on opposite sides at the same time with their hands joined, they balance each other. Walking that way, they can walk the rails as far as they want to go.

Isn’t that a great illustration of partnership? Going through life alone is difficult if not impossible. However, if you find a person you can rely on who also relies on you to go in a common direction, the partnership between the two of you will take you both as far as you want to go.

Zig Ziglar said, “You can have everything in life you want if you will just help other people get what they want.”
