Jeremiah 29:11, “I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.”
My bruised spirit almost leapt out of my heart and I felt like a six year old at a birthday party when I heard these four lines read as a greeting at the First Unitarian Church of Gainesville this past Sunday:
It is a blessing you were born.
It matters what you do.
Your experience of the divine is true.
And you don’t have to go it alone.
I have never had anyone tell me that it was a blessing that I was born.
I almost shouted like I was in a tent meeting.
I feel so affirmed that I almost doubled my offering.
I came near grabbing a white handkerchief and dancing the aisle.
But did you know that it is a blessing that you were born?
Straight up blessing!
Prayer: Father today may I understand that I am fearfully and wonderfully made and that You have a great purpose for my life.
