“Now when He had finished speaking, He said unto Simon, Launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a catch. And Simon said unto Him, Master, we have labored all night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at Your word I will let down the net. And when they had done this they caught a great multitude of fish: and their net was breaking.” – Luke 5:4-6
One of our Core Four members at North Florida invited me “out into the deep” last week. She presented a great idea of coming in at 5:00 AM and serving our Night Shift hot coffee and Krispy Kreme Doughnuts. In the middle of serving our Stakeholders early that morning, I began thinking: this is great for employee appreciation and moral. We had the opportunity to encourage and validate many of our employees that we rarely see because of the “Graveyard Shift”. God presented some awesome opportunities of encouraging Stakeholders in their faith, and also helping one out with a Compassion Fund Application.
Dear Lord, help us as your children not to miss Your voice in the workplace. When You ask us to “launch out into the deep” (when we are exhausted, when we’ve labored , when we feel at the moment things are stagnant) may we have the faith to answer “Nevertheless, at Your word I will…” “I will visit that resident one more time! I will try to minister to that family member one more time. I will keep praying for that Stakeholder! I will be a positive part of our Team at SHC! I will launch out into the deep and let down my nets one more time in faith, because somebody needs a life changing touch from Almighty God today!” In your name, Amen.
