A Good Leadership Principle

“And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith.” Galatians 5:9-10

God seems to accomplish so much through His people when the words “us” and “we” are present; Words of teamwork, partnership, unity, and accord. This leadership principle came to life last Wednesday here at North Florida. We had planned a mid-week Lord’s Supper (Communion) service for Easter week at 10:45 AM in our Main Dining Room. Our little group of about forty folks visited the Crucifixion and Resurrection passages of Christ in Scripture. We also sang the old hymn of the faith “Where You There”. We shared a precious moment of obedience together observing the Lord’s Supper. As I reflect on this wonderful moment from last week, I see our HR Director (Michelle) “doing good” with her gift of playing the piano. I see our Administrator (Brad) “doing good” by leading in prayer. I see our volunteer friend (Josephine) “doing good” by serving any way needed in this service. I see one of our QOL assistants “doing good” by helping residents with shaky and weak hands hold the elements of Communion. What a beautiful moment of unity. What an awesome opportunity to “do good…especially to those who are of the household of faith.”

Our Father, thank you for encouraging us to not grow weary while doing good! You promise that Your timing is impeccable, and in the right time we shall “reap if we do not lose heart.” May we embrace the opportunities that you give us to serve our residents, Stakeholders, volunteers, family, and friends at Signature HealthCare. In your majestic name, Amen
