Below is a commentary on God’s glory from Dave Whitehead (Senior Pastor at Grace NYC) I wanted to share with you all today.
“Lord, our Lord, how majestic is Your name in all the earth! You have set Your glory above the heavens.” Psalm 8:1
“When we get the implication of this Psalm, we see that God is trying to get our attention through His creation. There is a reason that we feel a sense of peace at a sunset, a sense of wonder at a thunderstorm, or even fear when we get to close to a wild animal. All of these external experiences are a shadow, even a guide, to what we will experience when this earth ends and a new heaven and earth begin. God has set His glory everywhere that we look.” – Dave Whitehead
LORD God Almighty, may we cry out with the seraphims, “…Holy, holy, holy, is the LORD of hosts: the whole earth is full of His glory.” ( Isaiah 6:3). Father God, you are awesome in this place! O LORD, our Lord, your name is absolutely majestic! You are worthy of our worship this day! Your glory has been set above the heavens, and also fills the entire earth! May Your Holy Spirit move mightily in all of our lives today, as we experience Your glory afresh and anew! In Your majestic and holy name, amen.
