“A Godly Reminder: by Chaplain Steve McKinney

Last week was an emotional roller coaster for me. I had a friend pass away from cancer at age 42, a co-worker battling the same disease, and several others facing the end of their journey here on earth. It’s easy to become tired and weary and even discouraged in our efforts at times. But a simple scripture shared at my friend’s funeral service gave me a much needed reminder…Romans 12:12 says “Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer”. This scripture spoke so strongly to me. Simply put a confident prayer and patient waiting, will result in perfect hope. That is the God we know! That is the God we serve! That is the God we love!

When you have days that are filled with many demands and issues that seem to weigh you down, then pray, know that God will answer, and then realize the promise of hope!

My prayers: God, today we thank you for mercy and grace and for hearing our prayers. Please encourage us and strengthen us to wait for what you have in store. And then God, show us a time of rejoicing as you reach out to our every need! In Your name, Amen
