Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love. Rev 2:4
Last week as I was having Bible Study with the Residents at Signature Healthcare at Tower Rd there was a question I asked them to ponder. And it goes a little something like this. Do you remember when you first met the Lord? How did you feel? What did you do? Many began to share with me how they witnessed for God without fear. Others stated how they prayed for their enemies without hesitation. That’s good was my response, but the final question I asked them left them speechless. Simply put, I asked them, “Are you still doing the things you just mentioned to me. You could hear a pen drop.
Well, I assured them that although life and circumstances can cause us to lose our focus there is still hope. I challenged them to go back and do what God has purposed for them to do. Chaplain Army/Revolution, this is my challenge for you as well. We need to go back and do the things God has placed on our hearts to do at the facilities he has placed us in. Sometimes we get discouraged from lack of support or some other distraction that keeps us from accomplishing a task we desire to undertake in our facilities. However, there is hope. I leave you with this promise. Matthew 21:22: And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.
Lord thank you for another day. Thank you for each individual that shall read this devotional. Lord, be with us as we go back and do the things you have placed on our hearts to do in the facilities you have placed us in. Amen.
